A shark's dorsal fin appears (see center of frame in video at right, about a third of the way up, at around 6:00 to 7:00 seconds) for a split second in the shallow surf at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
On this morning, three approximately 6-foot sharks appeared to be feeding, probably on mullet, at the innermost breakers in very shallow water — so shallow that their dorsal fins, and occasionally their bodies, could be seen above the water. The appearances were so brief that it was almost impossible to photograph them, since they didn't normally surface twice in the same zone – but in this case a dorsal fin did show up, seconds after a previous appearance..
