Pamela Saunders Hunter, 73, of Chatham, Va. passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Hunter was born on September 9, 1947 to the late Ivelle Shorter Saunders and the late Robert Emmett Saunders. She worked 30 years for the Pittsylvania County Department of Social Services.
Mrs. Hunter loved her various pets, and also all wildlife. She will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and friend, as well as an incredibly good cook, and for her excellent homemade sweet pickles.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Hunter, her daughter, Lori H. Oakes and her husband Kenneth, her sister, Jane S. Baynes and her husband Randy, her brother, Robert E. Saunders, III and his wife Donna.
