Sign at the Clover Wetland Project, along VA 600 just north of the entrance to the Staunton River Bridge Battlefield State Park:
This wetland is the largest wetland west of the tidewater area of Virginia. This wetland consists of 160 acres of restored freshwater marsh along the Staunton River flood plain, providing important breeding and resting sites for migrating waterfowl and other animals and birds.
This project was funded cooperatively by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Virginia Ducks Unlimited, Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and Virginia Power.
