Rockingham Youth Is Named President of Future Farmers

BLACKSBURG. June 25 — AP — A Shenandoah Valley youth was elected thursday as president of Virginia's Future Farmers of America (FFA) as the annual FFA state convention closed at Virginia Tech.

The new 1965-66 state president is Steve Bollinger, of Rockham County's Broadway chapter.

Other officers elected by the 900 delegates attending the convention are Henry Mitchell, secretary, Chatham chapter, Pittsylvania County; Harold Shockley, treasurer, Hillsville chapter, Carroll County; Carl Rexrode, reporter, Ft. Defiance chapter, Augusta County; and Joe Farriss, sentinel, William Campbell chapter, Campbell County.

Vice presidents named were Eldon Winesett, Woodlawn, Carroll; Alvin Thomas, Jr., Buckingham; Coleman Shuler, George Wythe, Wythe; Robert Rice, Northumberland; William Thompson, Greensville; and Weldon Armentrout, Montevideo, Rockingham.…
